Big Idea: What kinds of work do people do?

Make A Worker Flashcard Game

California Standard K.3 Students match simple descriptions of work that people do and the names of related jobs at the school, in the local community, and from historical accounts.

Materials: crayons, paste, scissors, index cards

1. Print the workers you see, or find pictures in magazines and cut them out.

2. Paste the pictures on cards.

3. Make sure you know the name of each worker and what he or she does.

4. Play a game by covering up part of the picture and asking a friend to name the worker and tell what he or she does. Does this worker work inside or outside?

5. Trade cards with others and play again.
