California Standard 6.1 Students describe what is known through archaeological studies of the early physical and cultural development of humankind from the Paleolithic era to the agricultural revolution.

If you visit southern Turkey, you can take a field trip to the prehistoric city of Çatal Hüyük, which is believed to be between 6,000 and 8,000 years old. Even though archaeologists have made important discoveries at Catal Hüyük, there are still many mysteries about it.
