Suburban Life in the 1950s


 California Standard 4.4.4 Describe rapid American immigration, internal migration, settlement, and the growth of towns and cities (e.g., Los Angeles). 

In the 1950s, the car helped to bring about a new way of life. People didn’t need to get out of their cars for many activities. You could go to a movie, bank, and even stores and stay in your car. The spirit of change was quickly making California the nation’s leader in everything from technology to jukeboxes.
