Two ranchers

A Young Person's Life in the 1840s


 California Standard 4.2.5 Describe the daily lives of the people, native and nonnative, who occupied the presidios, missions, ranchos, and pueblos. 

Rancho boys and girls helped their parents run the rancho. Girls helped their mothers manage the home. Boys helped their fathers round up the cattle. On fiesta days, boys and girls had fun. They dressed in their best clothes and watched their family members and guests dance.
