Native American children in California helped their parents from an early age. Boys hunted and fished with their fathers and elder brothers. Girls gathered plants with their mothers. They also learned to weave baskets, turn acorns into flour, and cook the family meals. Just like you, Native American children played games and looked after their younger brothers and sisters.
