Materials: Pen or pencil, index cards, magazines, newspapers

 

1. Write a list of people who are special to you. Look for their pictures in magazines, newspapers, or your library. Draw each person's picture on an index card.

 
 

2. Launch the Biographical Dictionary.

 
 

3. Enter the name of each person on your list. It may help to include a keyword. For example, enter Tiger Woods and golf.

 
 

4. Select facts and write them on the back of each index card.

 
 

5. Attach the pictures to a coat hanger with yarn. Share your mobile with your class.

Read some stories about heroes in ordinary families. You can even add a story about one of your heroes by signing the guestbook.
