Research one of the following states that joined the United States after the American Revolution: California, Texas and Oregon. Use these questions to guide your research.- How was the state settled?

- What happened to the Native Americans who lived there?
- How did the Texan War for Independence affect the state?
- How did the Mexican-American War affect the state?
