Step 1. Questions

In this unit you learned about the free market economy. In this type of economy, people have the freedom to risk their savings in order to invest in a business. How does the stock market work? Let's take a look!

Pick a stock and learn more about the stock market. Write a report that summarizes the process. Here are some questions to think about:
  • What is a stock?
  • What is a stock symbol?
  • What is volume?
  • Do stock prices stay the same or change?
Are you ready? Begin by visiting the Web site listed in Step 2. Look for answers to the questions above and record your notes in the box.


Step 2. Research

Once you′ve read about the stock market, type your observations in the box. Make sure to summarize the entire process.
