Unit 1: Mexico, a Land to the South The diverse land of Mexico includes mountains, plateaus, rain forests, plains, deserts, and valleys. The land and climate affect how people live in Mexico. Natural resources are plentiful in Mexico, creating many jobs in farming and factory work. After gaining independence from Spain in 1821, Mexico has set up democratic government. Today, Mexico City is alive with exciting historical sites to visit and celebrations to experience. |
