Lesson 3: The Pilgrims Arrive

The Pilgrims were a group of people who traveled from England to America on a ship called the Mayflower.

The Pilgrims built a colony called Plymouth. The Pilgrims had a hard winter. In the spring they were helped by the Native Americans who lived nearby.
One Native American named Squanto knew how to speak English. He stayed with the Pilgrims and showed them how to fish, hunt, and grown food.
By fall, the Pilgrims had lots of food and made a big meal. Squanto and the Native Americans came to the meal. The Pilgrims thanks God for their new friends and for all the good things that had happened.
