Lesson 3: Earth's Seasons

When we talk about rain or snow or how hot or cold it is, we are talking about the weather. Weather is different from day to day, and from place to place.

A season is a time of year that usually has its own kind of weather. The four seasons are spring, summer, fall, and winter.

Amanda lives in Florida. It is warm and sunny there for most of the year. Sometimes, though, big storms come. These storms often begin over the ocean, then move over land. People have to stay inside or leave the area until the storms pass.
