Step 1. Questions

Did you know?
Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, was built on the ruins of Tenochtitlan, the ancient Aztec capital.

Head south from the western half of the United States and you will enter the country of Mexico. Mexico is a land of rich culture, history, and traditions. Mexico is also an important trading partner of the United States. The two countries trade many goods and services every day.

Here are some questions about Mexico for you to research.

  • Why do Mexicans speak Spanish?
  • What Native American peoples lived in Mexico? How did the arrival of Europeans change their lives?
  • What is Mexico like today? Compare and contrast its food, holidays, and culture with those of the United States?
