The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio sponsors the site. There are numerous links to musicians and exhibits. You may want to explore the site to direct research. Note that clicking on the streaming list of members across the top will open on that member's biography.

What to Do

  1. Discuss the ways that students define the term rock and roll. Discuss other terms used to describe American music today.

  2. Discuss other halls of fame. How is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame like those? How is it different?

  1. Read the description of the exhibit on Marian Anderson. Scroll down to the "Table of Contents" and click on A Philadelphia Story to begin reading about her life.
  2. Click on the pictures to see larger versions of them. After you have read each page click on Next Panel at the bottom of the screen to go to continue.
